Think spring

It's 60 degrees outside......what else needs to be said?

We have the flu at our house. I immunized the kids two weeks ago against H1N1 and I think it helped to reduce the severity but so far Sam has been sick a week, I'm still going strong with symptoms and Zeke broke out in fever yesterday. It's miserable. I want to stay in bed all day but I guess mom's don't get to be sick when they have little ones to take care of.

The upside is I now have a week off of school, too bad I have to make it up next week when I'm better.

It's been a while

I don't even know if anyone reads this and don't really mind if no one does. I love reading old posts and want to keep up if only for the sake of being able to print it off once a year to look back on.

School is insane. It's hard. I cry a lot of tears. I LOVE it.

School

I started school again today after being gone for 15 years. Excited?? Yes! I am ecstatic. I love my professors, love my school and love being challenged. The kids are shocked that I have so many books and keep telling me I look smarter. I'm sure the novelty of it all will wear off but for now I'm blissfully happy being a student again.

My People

Kyra (age 2) asks me today to borrow some money. I ask her how much and she tells me she needs a lot. When questioned further she tells me it's not "actually" for her but for her people. . .

What in the world does a 2 year old need "people" for?

Our Super hero

One of the great things about our school is that the teachers have taught all over the world. Zeke's Kindergarten teacher is from Spain and most recently has taught in Nicaragua.

Zeke comes home every day asking if he can bring plastic pop bottles to school to recycle, and he's now asking everyone he knows to donate pencils because the kids in nicaragua don't have any. When he found out they don't have shoes either he started trying to find his old shoes we could send to them all though it took some convincing that his shoes were a bit too stinky at this point to send them on to someone else.

This little guy wants to save the world and knows he really can do it. If you have some new boxes of pencils, send them our way, he'd love to give them to the kids in Nicaragua.

Happy FALL

We took a trip to Black Island Farms last week during UEA and it couldn't have been a more perfect day!! The kids all had a great time trying to get lost in the corn maze, we all picked the biggest pumpkins our arms could carry and we had fun shooting corn cobs out into a corn field. We were thankful for "corn cops", who helped us find our way through the crazy maze. Sam went flying down the biggest slides, Zeke took extra special care of Kyra, and Emma was the best leader on the trails.

I could post 50+ pics of the fun we had but tried to keep it to our top 10 favs. . .
